Graeme and Pete - No Big Deal

are Peter Holyoak and Graeme Park – two British expats who have joined together to play music from the 60s, 70s , 80s and whenever. They have both played in semi professional bands in their younger days and are both accomplished musicians. Peter served his time as a vocalist in a successful rock band in the North East of England during the early seventies and has picked up guitar in the last couple of years. He owns a Gibson Les Paul Standard that was once owned and played by 60’s rock group, The Pretty Things.

Graeme has played daily on one type of guitar or another ever since his thirteenth birthday.

His first band hit the stage with an average age of fifteen and they developed from youth club dances to playing at weekend gigs around the clubs and pubs of the North East. Let me tell you that Rock and Roll is alive and well in Boldon Colliery.

The two guys met by chance at one of Dubai’s better restaurants and joined up later to bash out a few chords on their guitars. At first it was just for fun and then as they started to play more cohesively, they put together a show to entertain friends at social events. In an effort to improve the professional delivery of the music, they have built up a decent sound system and a respectable repertoire of old popular songs. Every week they are adding more value and depth to their performance by adding new equipment or new songs. Peter sings most of the vocals while Graeme plays the fiddly bits on guitar and occasionally throws in the odd harmony or two.

The band prefers to play to backing tracks made up by Graeme on his dedicated music PC. This avoids arguments, missed rehearsals and general mayhem caused by misbehaving drummers, bass guitarists and keyboard players. The use of backing tracks also means we have simpler transport needs as well as keeping the end-of-show drinks round to a more manageable level.

No Big Deal are available to entertain at private parties and backyard barbecues or simply if you want to annoy the neighbours. For details call either of the numbers below.
